30th September 2021

AC Milan vs Lokomotiv Moscow

UEFA Europa League, Matchday 2, 2100hrs

Marcus walked through the door of his office in the San Siro. He shrugged off his coat, hung it up and sat down in his chair. It was not long after the game and Marcus had a little bit to do before he got to finish for the day. European nights at the San Siro were always special, he thought. And this one was no exception.

Marcus took a sip of the glass of wine that had been left on his desk, an affectation of Italy that he had happily gotten used to, got out his phone and checked Twitter for the reactions to the evening

Marcus closed Twitter. Well, he thought, the internet looks happy with tonight’s result. 13-0 will do that for you… He swivelled in his chair and turned on the TV. Thank God for subtitles…

“Milan played a game for the ages tonight, defeating Lokomotiv Moscow 13-0. Krzysztof Piatek scored four goals, including the best of the bunch here”

Emile Smith-Rowe hit a double with this peach of a 20-yard strike one of the goals of the game.”

Lucas Paqueta was also on target twice, joining Smith-Rowe and Oliver Batista Meier with a two-goal haul. There were also goals from the defence with headers from corners by Lukas Mai and Ryan Astley. Finally, the best goal of the game was scored by the young Milan winger Andrea Sottil, who roofed a thunderous volley from a Batista Meier cross. Those 13 goals were wonderful to watch and Milan were unplayable. Next up was the Group E cla..”

Marcus turned off the TV and opened the drawer to get out his paperwork. This result would surely buy him some goodwill with the fans…

AC Milan 13 – 0 Lokomotiv Moscow
