This isn’t a new beginning, more of a fresh start

This isn’t the beginning of a new journey per se, it’s the continuation of an existing one, in a way. I started the #DanskeDankse challenge in FM20, found here. I didn’t see it through partly because of needing a new laptop, and partly because of other saves I had going on, but now the time is to see it through. To the end. With a twist….

So the rules of this challenge are thus:

Start at any Danish 2.division (third tier) side.

For the middle part, do whatever you want, go wherever you want, the world is your ashtray, I mean oyster

Finish the save by taking Brondby to the Champions League final, and winning it.

Simple right? Yes it is. However I am going back to this challenge and adding another challenge into the mix, sort of a challenge within a challenge (insert shock horrors / audience gasping noise here). The extra part of the challenge I am adding is simple enough, win the top division in each of the Nordic countries, those being Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. No extra leagues added (sorry Faroe Islands) but just leagues in the vanilla game.

This isn’t like the British and Irish steel where your aim is to win every league in these countries, it wouldn’t make sense anyway as in the Swedish 4th division there are 4 leagues divided by geographical locations, so say win 1 and get promoted to the third division, just to go back and win another doesn’t seem realistic to me. Plus as a DanskeDankse revolutionist, it just doesn’t go with my flow bro.

Just like the initial rules of the save, I am starting at a 2.division side again, and the end goal is as described, try and win each of the 5 Nordic leagues and then aim for the Champions League with Brondby. The twist being that I’ve added winning the Nordic top leagues as a requirement. Are you still following? Good.

If you’ve followed any of my posts on this great site (found here😉 ) you’ll know I like to post things in a narrative way, giving life to my characters and what not. I genuinely can’t play this great game we all love without thinking how I will get things into a story, or how I want the save to go, it’s a bit annoying at times really.

Before we continue, not many in the FM community know each other properly. We’re all friends, we share each others content, we critique and give advice, but we don’t know each other that well. Me, well I’m a massive geek. I really am. I love wrestling, comics, books and my taste in music is questionable at best. Anything from the 80’s and synthwave are my go to listening pleasures.

My missus always remarks ‘it’s fake you know’ when I’m still marking out, at 36, to the wrestling I watch religiously. I often reply with ‘well if it’s so fake why did my sister have to go to the hospital with a broken freaking neck when I power bombed her through our kitchen table when we were kids?’ My eldest thinks I’m embarrassing, my little girl thinks I’m funny and my boy is just me in small human form, God bless them all.

With that said, you’re going to see many pop culture references in this blog. There’s no prize for spotting them other than being as awesome as me, but if you do manage to find them let me know and I’ll give you a shout out. The community’s gotta stick together and all that.

So here we go then, again, for the DankseDankse revolutionist to make his mark on the game. Step up Flight Lieutenant Jock McGhee, and take your place in the cockpit that is the Skovshoved FC managers chair.

So fasten your seatbelts; it’s going to be a bumpy night.

Welcome (back) to Denmark Jock.

Viva la Revolution! The Danske Danske Revolution!
